Мейотические хромосомы человека — хромосомы, сгруппированные в 7 классов (от A до G) согласно определенным цитологическим критериям: А (хромосомы 1-3) — крупные хромосомы с центромерой, расположенной примерно посередине. В (хромосомы 4-5) — крупные хромосомы с центромерами, расположенными почти посередине. С (хромосомы 6-12 и Х-хромосома) — среднего размера хромосомы с околосрединным расположением центромеры. D (хромосомы 13-15) — хромосомы среднего размера, акроцентрические; хромосома 13 имеет на коротком плече сателлит (спутничную хромосому). Е (хромосомы 16-18) — такие же короткие хромосомы с центромерами, расположенными посередине (хромосома 16) или почти посередине. F (хромосомы 19 и 20) — короткие хромосомы со спаренными срединными центромерами. G (хромосомы 21, 22 и Y-хромосома) — очень короткие акроцентрические хромосомы.
